So excited to announce that my next Scottish Retreat collaboration will be combining Yoga and Trail Running in the beautiful Scottish countryside!

Join us at the beautiful Horsey Reach House, a fabulous, contemporary, light-filled space, with views of the Tay and surrounding Perthshire countryside from all the bedrooms and public rooms. It sleeps 12 people in 6 bedrooms – all with ensuite facilities.

SONOYOGA

My classes are generally a mix of yoga styles dependent on the students. They involve building strength, flexibility, stretching overused muscles and releasing tightened tissue. As I am very active and also a keen cyclist and spinning instructor, I have a great interest in teaching yoga to people who do sports. I believe that yoga is a really good complimentary practice for any activity that puts pressure on the muscles, fascia and joints.

Hugh McInnes

Endurance Runner, Triathlete and owner of Pedalhouse Spinning Studio in Edinburgh. Hugh has been in involved in endurance racing for 25yrs, running competitively at 5k and 10k distances from the age of 16, turning to Marathons and then Triathlons by his mid twenties. In the last decade he has switched to Ultra Running, finishing over 50 races. He has always enjoyed coaching and passing on advice about his experiences of Endurance racing. Its about building fitness and strength, but mostly its about being outside and enjoying the trails.

RICHARD

Richard can adapt menus and dishes to cater for most types of diets and requests. He always tries to source food from local suppliers where possible and his menus are seasonal and fresh. A chef for over 20 years, he has a passion for food and this shows in his varied menus. From retreats to brunches, the guests always come back for his food! The menus will be specially adapted to support both the yoga and running.

Michele Hall

We are thrilled to be joined by one of the most experienced body therapists in the city. Michele moved into in the fitness industry over 23 years ago and has worked in the exercise and health industry ever since. She is a keen advocate of natural movement and movement intelligence. She has a hands on approach that allows her to get right down to the painful places. Freeing fascia, manipulating muscles, tearing away tension to provide a dynamic balanced healthy posture. Michele is also a barefoot running coach.

WEEKEND PLAN

The retreat will run for 3 nights and will include a Yoga practice on the Friday night, two on Saturday and Sunday – one in the morning and one in the evening, and one on the Monday morning before departure.

Each session will be tailored to support the running with some stretch and stabilisation sessions in the morning and a more gentle practice in the evening to wind down and relax those tired muscles. The sessions will be led by myself.

The running part of the weekend will be led by Hugh McInnes, Endurance Runner, Triathlete and owner of Pedalhouse Spinning Studio and will  include two and a half hour sessions on both Saturday and Sunday as well as an optional run early Monday morning. These will be interspersed with some technique work focusing on downhill  and uphill running. Runners will be working at the pace of the slowest in the group, but there will be lots of opportunities for faster runners to stretch their legs with hill reps and efforts on both days. This is a great opportunity to get out there and take your running to the next level. Get loads of ideas on how to push yourself both mentally and physically on to you challenges that can help shape your future self.

And if that wasn’t enough… we have one of the most experienced manual therapists in the city, Michele Hall of Dynamic Balance to offer her skills and advice for weary bodies and injury prevention. Michele is also a barefoot running coach.
These will be bookable separately at an additional cost and treatments will be booked directly through Michele.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The retreat will be full board with Breakfast, lunch and dinner served. All meals will be tailored to support the running and yoga practices, prepared lovingly by our retreat chef, Richard Iacono (my husband) using seasonal and local ingredients where possible.
The food will be vegetarian.
Please let us know of any dietary requirements/allergies in advance.

No alcohol will be served, however you are welcome to bring your own.

The price for the full weekend will be £495 per person. A non-refundable deposit of £200 is required to secure your space. If you book before the 31st of December 2019, the early bird price is £450.

This is based on 2 people sharing a twin room. There are a couple of double rooms available for couples or if you would prefer single occupancy, get in touch and we can discuss pricing.

Only 12 spaces available, so please book early to avoid disappointment. Our next two Scottish retreats are fully booked and we have already had some interest in repeat booking from these.
